The short answer
Preply doesn't run a public, code-based discount system the way Amazon does. There is no SAVE20 code that everyone can use forever. What does exist:

- Referral credit — when an existing student refers you, both get $5–$15 added to their balance.
- Package size discount — buying 12 or 20 lessons per month is always 10–15% cheaper per hour than single hours.

How the trial discount actually works
Preply runs an affiliate program. Partners (including this site) earn a small commission when readers click their link and book a paid trial. To incentivize the click, Preply lets partners pass a portion of that commission back to the student as an instant discount on the trial. That's why the same trial lesson can cost $15 if you book it cold, or $5 through a partner link.
The discount applies only to the first paid trial with a particular tutor. After that, your regular hourly rate kicks in.
Tip: The discount is per-account, not per-tutor. If you book your trial through one partner link and don't like the tutor, you can replace them through Preply support and the credit usually rolls over.
Referral credit — the second best deal

"Promo codes" you should ignore
Search "Preply promo code 2026" and you'll find dozens of coupon-aggregator sites listing codes that don't work — PREPLY30, WELCOME50, etc. They are stale, fake, or were briefly valid for a specific A/B test. Pasting them into checkout almost never works in 2026. The aggregators farm SEO traffic; nobody on the team verifies the codes.

Generally, Preply allows one discount per checkout. You can't stack a partner discount with a friend's referral on the same first lesson. But you can:
- Use the partner discount on the trial,
- Then redeem referral credit on your next package,
- Then time your package renewal to a Black Friday upgrade.
Preply Business discounts
For teams, Preply Business runs custom quotes — there's no public discount code. Volume buyers (10+ seats) typically negotiate 15–25% off the per-employee monthly price. Always ask.
